Marianne Williamson is a bestselling author, lecturer and spiritual instructor. She has published ten books, six of which are New York Times best sellers. In 1989, Marianne founded a non-profit meals- on -wheels program, called Project Angel Food, which serves meals to homebound individuals with AIDS and other life threatening illness in the Los Angeles area. In 2004, she co-founded The Peace Alliance, a campaign with a grass roots foundation that encourages legislation that helps to establish and support a United Department of Peace. She also works tirelessly to help those less fortunate by serving on the board of RESULTS, an organization to help end impoverishment all over the world. She encourages women to become political candidates and has been a big influence in the organization Sister Giant, a collection of teaching seminars that provides women with informative materials to help them on their political journeys. Through this group, she promotes the idea that women ought to align their spiritual beliefs with their political ones.
On Monday March 10th, we had the pleasure of hosting Marianne Williamson in conjunction with our Second Sunday Series. As we previously mentioned, Marianne is the author of ten highly uplifting books, six of which have become New York Times bestsellers. What you may not know is that Marianne is bringing her light to Washington D.C. She is running for Congress!
It was a fun filled, motivational and inspirational day!
