When you mention the word blogging to many business owners, they’ll often respond by saying; “I don’t have the time to write blog posts.” or “Writing’s just not my thing.” These business owners do not realize that blogging is one of the most powerful and inexpensive ways to market your business.
Business owners who blog get 55% more traffic to their websites than those who don’t, according to a study done by Hubspot.com. Still, many business owners avoid blogging like the plague. Below are some of the benefits of blogging either on your own website or as a guest blogger on other sites such as An Empowered Woman.
Every time you write an article of value, about a topic that your prospects may be searching for, words that you’ve featured will get indexed on Google and other search engines. When your prospects see your article listed in the search results, they will be drawn to look at it and click on the website it’s hosted on.
If you are strategic about using a searchable main keyword phrase in the title and in the content of your article, that keyword phrase has a better chance of ranking higher in the search engines. A keyword phrase is when you put together 3-4 words describing your topic. For instance, many people search for the term “weight loss.” It’s a very broad phrase. If you Google it, you will most likely find about 268,000,000 searches. If you put that phrase into your blog post, the chances of it appearing on the first page of Google are probably slim. However, if you add a word or two to the phrase, such as “weight loss over 40” the number of searches will be smaller. In this case “weight loss over 40” has about 55,900,000 searches. This will give you a much better chance of having the phrase from your article get to the top of the page in Google.
When you blog, you’re able to establish yourself as an expert in your field and set yourself apart from others who do the same thing that you do.
The more articles you write, either on your own site, or on an authority site, such as An Empowered Woman, the more your prospects will begin to know, like and trust you.
